I have been Aunt Tonya for a long time to Jadee's boys. They are getting older and have been told that I am not their Aunt. So every once in awhile they switch back and forth Aunt T, Miss T. T.
While in my care the other day I was trying to get them out the door to get them to daycare for lunch. "There are ants in our room." N says. I am not in the mood to stop our plans to take care of ants. So since I know that I can take them to daycare and then come back, I tell them "Leave them alone, I'll take care of it later." Seemed logical to me. This was not the answer N was looking for. So instead he decided to open the window to let the ants out.
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! (Both boys.)
"What is wrong?" (T)
Reply....."The ants are scary." (both boys)
Thinking to myself, I really don't have time for this, I walk into their bedroom (unaware the window had been opened. Much to my dismay, there was a swarm of ants over the window seal trying to get in from the heat and to water. I get the window shut, make a phone call to J since I can't find bug spray, spray the ants, get the boys dressed and out the door to finish taking care of it after the bug spray disipates (it activated my asthma.)
All this to point out that N seemed to only call me Miss T the rest of the time I saw him. I have a feeling that Aunt T got beat by the ants. I guess only time will tell. I feel bad for the boys having that experience. It was pretty creepy. I tried to make them feel better by telling that we have ants right now too, I think that only made them NOT want to come visit anytime soon!
Ants 1 / Aunt 0.

Some aunts are scary too. :)
We have yet to have ant problems at our house, which really surprises me given that crickets can get in easily enough and it isn't like we don't leave crumbs around to attract the little bugs.
This is the first year we've had problems, but they are the tiny ones that ant bait doesn't work as well on.
If the boys think ants are scary, it probably is good that they didn't call you aunt.
Dust, are you trying to say something about how I eat? I thought those were your crumbs. : )
I think this is one of those situations where I should say that they are our crumbs.
I think you are correct Dust! :)
I know you read this to me...but it is even funnier reading it! I love the title!
