Why blog?

I was having a conversation with a person close to me who said they just didn't get the whole blog thing. They couldn't be that honest and really didn't want everyone knowing their inner thoughts. They also said something similar to Vernal's blog about not wanting to assume others cared about what they thought.

I don't blog with the assumption that others care about my inner thoughts. I blog because as a child I wrote tons of letters and prayers and that evolved into a poetic period and then back to journals as an adult, and it just came natural. Plus it came at a time where I had started to lose sight of my own thoughts and just become bogged down with routine. It's something that gives me a chance to take a step back from the rest of the day and actually think about something other than the dishes, vacuuming, dusting, kids, dinner, Chad etc. I get to think for a while without the obligations attached. I like my blog time. I hope others enjoy their blog time too.

So why do you blog? What's your motivation in writing?

I think I keep my site updated because that is the way I can relay my thoughts without having to interrupt anyone.

I blog to stay more in touch with my friends. I feel a lot closer to everyone now that we have started blogging. Everything I post is something that I would tell everyone anyway. I mentioned to someone that it is therapeutic. It is like keeping a diary. I don't know if I would take time out to write a diary so this way I still am able to express my feelings.

I blog because of Sam's blog. This is going to be a great tool. Also, I'm a ham.

Who is this "Sam" you speak of?
I bet he is a dork.

I think I blog with a goal of keeping in touch. Though I do enjoy the writing aspect too. I think those everyday things are kind of eating my brain energy now, house, food, packing, etc. So I've hesitated to blog about those things. I do think writing can be very therapeutic, but I don't want to do my therapy in front of everyone when I'm running crazy, so I'm trying to keep it to interesting moments.

All of you in the OPK crew are quite entertaining!! Too bad the blogging thing hasn't quite caught on with my local circle....hmmm..that would be double trouble, I'm sure!

I blogged because I needed to get things out for me to see..It was like everthing would get mixed up and lost within one another..I am quitting though. I just stopped by to see what's new here. I am not even gonna bother with my weblog right now...I should but I am busy...doing nothing. I don't know when I am going to delete it. but I am sure I will. If I don't it is going to be very slow. Ok my stomach hurts and it is late...so I am done.

I blog because a friend of mine.He kept talking about His blog. I started reading them and I was hooked. So I created a blog as a journal for my hobby.
